Out for a Morning Walk

We were walking when this bird flew by us! Of course all I had with me was my point and shoot. I just can't seem to get use to not looking through a viewfinder and hold that tiny thing still. So here's my shots as they may be. Does anyone know what kind of bird this is? (hawk family)? I think the last shot is the best unfortunately he put his head down.

Cool sighting, Saun! I am going to take a guess and say it is a Red Shouldered hawk. Mainly because of the tail bands. But, it is only a guess. Have a great day!

Great job with your point and shoot. There seem to be lots of hawks these days!

I have no idea what it is...but grabbing my camera and taking a photo of it would be very difficult for me while I was taking cover :)
